JPay for instance, allows family and friends to transfer money directly to an inmate's trust account as well as videos, emails, photos and eCards. They can also create personalized postcards with their own images. It's a safer and more secure alternative to postal mail.
Another popular texting app for inmates is GettingOut. It provides "simple reliable, reliable communication" between inmates and their loved ones. The application is available at select correctional facilities and allows prisoners to upload images and text messages to friends and family via their tablets.
